Introductions, happy holidays, and welcoming a new year!

Hello!

I would like to reintroduce myself and my design studio, ALW Designworks. This year especially, there has been a lot of development in establishing my full-service marketing consultancy merging business strategy with art direction, which I’ve named ALW Creative Strategies!

I am offering customizable marketing packages that include logo design, brand identity, and content writing; website design and user interaction; email campaigns and social media; and product packaging, label design, and merchandise. My experience spans building a marketing position from scratch, leading a marketing team in a corporate setting, assisting in strategy and deliverables for start-up businesses, and working in a non-profit environment. I am combining these experiences with my education in architecture, fine arts, and writing to establish myself as a Creative Director.

You may already know how architect Frank Lloyd Wright has influenced my career, as he in-part inspired my own logo. I am proud to say I’ve been working part-time as a Museum Docent / Events and Marketing Manager at the Gordon House, FLW’s only built design in Oregon! Due to state and health guidelines we are currently closed to tours, though throughout the year we also host private events like weddings, photo shoots, and even an overnight’s stay. This has been a wonderful opportunity in so many ways, but a highlight is providing product photography for our museum store and architectural photography for developing content for our social media.

This year, prior to the pandemic setting in, Art and I started Haakon Construction intended as a general contracting business that will grow into a full scale residential design and build operation. While we are unfortunately shelving our plans, it is not for a loss; Art has accepted a role with Ridgecrest Custom Cabinetry and parent company Pacific Crest Building Supply as Field Technician where he will be leading a team of finish carpenters as the company expands into Oregon. In the meantime, www.haakonconstr.com will remain a portfolio showcasing Art’s passion projects like the teardrop trailer he built from scratch and the interactive geodesic dome, which was our first collaboration!

We’ve certainly had a rollercoaster of a year, Art and his father sold the Oregon City Residential Care Center, Jackson gave us a scare back in July by eating a bee, we are currently nursing an injury on Jade’s tail, my parents braved travel by plane to visit during the summer, Art and I have collaborated on designing our future dream home, and while camping we made an incredible batch of 18-hour campfire roasted pulled pork enchiladas in a cast iron Dutch oven to name the highlights and I’m happy to say things are looking up!

As a recipient of this newsletter you are friends/family, mentors, colleagues, or are already a client and I want to thank all of you for the role you have played in my career and life. I hope this finds you well, and that good things are yet to come. Please feel free to reach out with any future projects, events, or ideas!

Happy Holidays,

Avery Williams
